Fly Fishing Gift Certificate: Give a Guided Day in Alberta

A fly fishing gift certificate from Trout Haven Fly is the easiest way to give an angler, or someone who has always wanted to try, a real day on the water. Choose the trip, we prepare a personalized certificate, and the recipient picks the date.

Choose the trip to offer

Each trip price covers 1 to 2 anglers, and a third angler pays a supplement. See all trips and prices on our guide prices page.

How it works

  1. Choose the trip. Pick a half-day, a full-day, a 2-day wilderness trip or an Upper Bow River trip.
  2. Contact us. Tell us the trip and who the certificate is for, and we confirm the payment details with you.
  3. Receive the certificate. Once payment is confirmed, we email you a personalized certificate with a unique number and your receipt.
  4. Book the date. The recipient contacts us with the certificate number to choose a date.

Our gift certificates have no expiry date, in line with the Government of Alberta's rules on gift cards. Trip dates are subject to guide availability, weather and river conditions.

What is included with the trip

  • Half-day trip: rods, reels, flies, a snack, drinks, and a free photo and video package.
  • Full-day trip: rods, reels, flies, lunch, drinks, and a free photo and video package.
  • 2-day wilderness trip: rods, reels, flies, two lunches, drinks, a camp dinner on day one, and a free photo and video package. The recipient brings a tent, a sleeping bag and a chair.

Trip lengths and details are on our guide prices page.

Which fly fishing gift certificate to choose

The right certificate depends on how much time you want to give. A half-day trip lasts 4 to 5 hours, a full-day trip lasts 8 to 10 hours, and the 2-day wilderness trip is a backcountry adventure with one night of camping. If the recipient dreams of the Bow River, choose one of the two Upper Bow River trips, a half-day or a full-day.

Each trip price covers one or two anglers, so a certificate can be shared by two friends or a couple. A third angler pays a supplement, and the number of guests is written on the certificate.

What will they fish for?

Alberta is home to rainbow, brown, cutthroat, brook and bull trout, as well as whitefish, lake trout, golden trout and Arctic grayling. Learn more about each fish on our Alberta fish species pages, and see the 30 best flies for Alberta trout our guide chooses from. On a guided day, we supply the flies and match them to the river, the weather and the fish.

A gift certificate makes a memorable present for a birthday, an anniversary, a retirement or the holidays, and we email it to you once payment is confirmed.
