Stoneflies (Early to Late Summer)

Golden Stoneflies are active throughout the summer, especially in July. Salmonflies, the larger species, hatch in early summer and can create exceptional dry fly opportunities.

Recommended flies:

  • Stimulator (orange or yellow)

  • Chubby Chernobyl (golden or salmon colors)

  • Stonefly nymphs


Mayflies (Spring to Fall)

Blue Winged Olives (BWO) are common during overcast days in spring and fall. Pale Morning Duns (PMD) are a key hatch in summer, especially from late June through August.
